Welcome! I'm Meg, the owner and creator of CITRYN.  At its heart, this space is a giant thank you to my amazing family and partner. CITRYN would not exist without their incredible support. Let's get into it. 

The vision began with my beautiful Mom, Narelle. In 2024 she was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent multiple treatments in her fight against it. Throughout her journey, she began researching the products she was using in hopes of avoiding harmful substances and supporting her body the best she could during treatment and beyond. Watching her navigate this season with so much grace inspired me to do the same. 

I've loved makeup for as long as I can remember (honourable mention to the older sister figure in my life), but her experience pushed me to really look at what I was putting on my skin every day. It was a wake up call. And from that moment, CITRYN was born. 

Having the idea was one thing, but bringing it to life was another. At that period in my life, I was a little (a lot) all over the place. I was working a job that didn't fulfill me, I was outgrowing my shell and needless to say felt very lost. I knew I needed a change, so in typical "follow my heart" fashion, I quit my big girl job. That was scary for many reasons, but mostly because I didn't know what my long term plans were. 

I began working for my dad, who quickly became one of CITRYN'S biggest advocates. He reminded me then (and now) that I can make anything of my reality, I just need to put in the work and trust myself. So here we are today! I still can't believe this is real. 

My grandparents generously offered their studio space to create and work in, and just like that, CITRYN finally had a home. 

Our name comes from the crystal Citrine, which symbolizes abundance, prosperity and success. Everything I hope this brand embodies. Together, let's celebrate beauty that is intentional, sustainable and empowering.
